Henry Peter
Barkhouse, Age 71, died October 12, 2018 at his home in
River Philip.
Peter was born December 12, 1946 in
Middleton, NS., the son of the late Maurice and Evelyn
Barkhouse.
Peter loved his family with all his
heart. He enjoyed taking road trips with his family and dogs,
especially those in his beloved Nova Scotia. Peter was a biologist,
naturalist, and farmer. Peter had a great admiration and respect for
nature and animals and they played a major role in almost everything
he undertook.
He is survived by wife, Barbara Elaine
(Ritcey) Barkhouse, daughter Jillian Barkhouse, son Andrew
(Katelyn Moore) and grandchildren Alexander and Ellie; sisters Mary
Mitchell (Frank), Gen Sharkoff (Mark), Betty Bezanson (Les) and Pat
Snoyer (Jack); nieces and nephews Barb’s family: Norm and
Pat Ritcey, Ed and Veronica Ritcey, Jim and Sandra Ritcey,
Rod and Brenda MacDonald, Robert and Susan Ritcey, Russ and Jennie
MacIsaac.
He was predeceased by still born brother
Michael and still born daughter Kristen and brother-in-law Ron Ritcey.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of W. Allen Funeral Home, 60
Water Street, Oxford, NS, (902-447-2167) from where an Afternoon Of
Remembrance will take place on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, from 1 to
3 pm. A private family interment will take place in the
River Philip Cemetery at a later date.
Donations in Peters memory to the L.A.
Animal Shelter, Amherst or the Canadian Cancer Society would be
greatly appreciated.
