Obituary of Grace Thomas
THOMAS – Grace Louise (Ward), age 69, of Dartmouth. With heavy hearts, the family of Grace Thomas announces her sudden passing at home on March 18, 2018. Born in East Walton, NS on May 15 1948 to the late Alverta (Lake) and Nathan Ward, Grace had made her home in Dartmouth for many years. Always looking after everyone in life and at work, Grace was employed for over twenty years as a personal care worker in small options homes, where she touched the lives of everyone she met. Grace was small but mighty; even cancer couldn’t keep her down. After her diagnosis in 2015 she withstood surgeries and radiation treatment and ultimately beat the disease and was declared cancer free by January 2016. Grace will be greatly missed by all who knew her, including her children Daniel (Marlee), Angela, Dominic and David, as well as her grandchildren Daniel Jr. and Ryan, whom she loved and cherished. Also survived by siblings Blois, Bill, John, Kenny, Jackie, Elsie, Margie, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Grace was predeceased by her brothers Lowell and Charlie. Cremation has taken place; there will be a Celebration of Life on April 7 2018 from 2-4pm at the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 354, Kennetcook, followed by a graveside service at Tennecape Cemetery.
