Gordon Wilbur Chiles
Gordon Wilbur Chiles, 88, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully on July 31, 2018.
Born on August 29, 1929 in Springdale, AB, Gordon was one of eight children. Raised on a farm he loved the outdoors and was no stranger to hard work.
As a young man he worked thrashing, logging, as an orderly at the Ponoka hospital and then drove ambulance for Stars in Calgary. He worked at Cominco as a chemical analyst for 20 years and then an independent business man into his late 70’s.
On July 19, 1952 he married Elaine (Armstrong) Chiles. Together they raised five children and enjoyed the commotion of 21 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Elaine passed away in 2010 and Gordon married Julane (Heninger) Chiles in 2012.
As an active member of the LDS church, he loved the gospel and devoted his life to serving, God, family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 04, at 11:00 am at the LDS Chapel (8 Keast Way, RD, AB), interment to follow at Alto Reste Cemetery,
Those wishing to pay their respect may do so prior to the service at 10:00 am.
All are invited for pie and ice cream following the interment
