Obituary of Gordon “Ross” Lattie
LATTIE – Gordon “Ross”, age 87, formerly of Latties Brook, passed away on November 13, 2018 at the Mira, Truro. Born in Five Mile River on November 1, 1931, he was the son of the late William and Lalia (Ettinger) Lattie. Ross worked at Dominion Metal and in construction before retiring from the Department of Highways. He loved to play cards, and was known for his extensive collection of Coke memorabilia, which was his pride and joy. Ross is survived by his daughters, Debbie Beach (Barry) and Kathy Phillips (Terry); his chosen son, Charlie; grandchildren, Siobhan, Stephanie, Jillian, and Kristen; great-grandchildren, Blayze, Sophie, and Carter; brother, Adam (Edna); sister-in-law Betty, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ross was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie “Tootie” (Labrador); sisters Edith and Ada; brothers Reg, Clarence, Raymond, Alfred, and Keith; sister-in-law Edie, and brother-in-law Eddie Tanner. Visitation will be held from 1-2pm with a funeral service at 2pm on Saturday, November 17 at J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook, Rev. Natalie Buchanan-Rutherford officiating. Private interment at St. John the Baptist Anglican Cemetery. Family flowers only; donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Latties Brook; or the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, 112-2719 Gladstone Street, Halifax, NS, B3K 4W6.
