OBITUARY
Gordon Leroy Hillis
10 October , 1941 – 8 April , 2018
Gordon Leroy Hillis, age 76, of Courtenay, BC, passed away peacefully on Sunday April 8, 2018 in the competent and loving care of the staff at Cumberland Health Centre.
Gordon is predeceased by his wife Nadine in 2009 and his granddaughter Christine in 2005.
Left to remember him with love and fondness are his daughters; Julie (Rick) Schneck and sons Bryon and Bradley, and Janis (Bill) Cairns and daughter April. Also, his step children; Stephen, David, Darren, Nicole, Melanie, Shane, James, Dean and their families. Along with he and Nadine’s siblings; Midge, Ron, Sarah, Lyn, Merrily, Cherry, Noel, Robin and families.
Born October 10, 1941 in Sidney BC, the second child in a family of 6 children. Gordon grew up roaming and enjoying the Saanich Peninsula – an Island boy through and through. Gordon was a skilled carpenter and teacher, an avid outdoorsman and was often found with a fishing pole in hand. He was a gentleman and will be missed by his family and friends.
A Memorial for Gordon will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints, 1901 – 20th St, Courtenay.

Sympathies message

  1. Am sad reading of Gordon passing. He and I spent long hours together in our younger school years. We were 3 legged racing champions. Probably that is no longer a school sports day event. I remember him fondly. My heart goes out to his family
