Gordon Carson – Loved and Remembered
Carson, Gordon S. 96, of Fundy Royal Manor, Hillsborough, NB and formerly of Mapleton Rd. Moncton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 10, 2018.
Born in Havelock, NB, he was the son of the late Norman and Martha (Sutherland) Carson.
Gordon was a veteran of WWII, having served with the 8th Canadian Hussars (Princess Louise’s) from 1940 to 1945. After the war, he worked as a farmer and enjoyed working in the woods. Later in life he worked for the Canadian Postal Service until his retirement in 1981.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter Myrna (Ken) Dorcas, Riverview, NB; two sons, Eric (Karon), Moncton, Michael (Susan), Riverview, NB, four grandchildren; Scott (Amie) Dorcas, Jennifer Carson, Keith MacLeod, Ryan Carson and four great grandchildren, Skyla, Bailey, Benjamin and Oliver.
Also, left to mourn, are sisters, Jean MacDonald, Beatrice Alward and Mary (Bob) Wood.
He was predeceased by his wife Augusta Carson in 2014, daughter Sharon Macleod in 2007, son-in-law David MacLeod in 2003, brother Ralph, and sisters, Audrey and Phyllis.
A Celebration of Gordon’s Life will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place in Fair Haven Cemetery.
In memory of Gordon, donations can be made to Friends of The Moncton Hospital or a memorial of the donor’s choice.
