GLADYS AMELIA GREEN (née Anderson)
February 14, 1920 – April 11, 2018
Born and raised in Westbourne, Manitoba, the youngest daughter of Oscar Anderson and Belle Chantler. Predeceased by husband Frank, her parents, and all six siblings. Survived by her step-daughter, and numerous nieces/nephews and their families. As a young woman Gladys ventured to Toronto. She supported herself with a job as an elevator operator in the Eaton’s building. Her next move was to Winnipeg, where she worked for many years as an office clerk, and where she met and married Frank Green. After Frank’s death in 1980, Gladys moved to Abbotsford, BC. Here she became active in the Kiwanis Club and made many friends. Another move took her to S. Surrey/White Rock to live in Rosemary Heights Seniors Village and finally at the Dr. Al Hogg Pavilion. The family thanks the staff at the Seniors Village and the Pavilion for the kind care and attention Gladys received. By Gladys’ request, her ashes will be laid to rest beside Frank in Winnipeg. Her long life (98+ yrs) will be celebrated at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation to BC Children’s Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Gladys Amelia Green 2018.source
