Obituary of Gertie Windle (nee Mahusky)
Our Beloved Mom passed away peacefully on Thursday July 26th at Bonnechere Manor. She was 95. Predeceased by her loving husband Johnny. Loving Mom of Jack (Veronica), Bridget (Jerome Dedo), Ronnie, Bernadette (Kenny Culhane). Proud and beloved grandma of 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great–grandchildren. Predeceased by her siblings Mary, Emma, Bernard, Theodore, Thomas, Annie, Joe and brothers in law Jim (late Lillian), Bishop J.R. Windle, her sisters in law Mary (Roger), Genevieve (Mike). Survived by sister in law Cordelia Mahusky. Gertie will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. A very special thank you to Dr. Dipaolo and each and every staff member of Bonnechere Manor for their continued excellence in care and compassion. During Gertie’s stay at Bonnechere Manor she participated in all activities and it gave her purpose and happiness.
The death of our loving Mom is such a loss to her four children who were her life. She had no idea of what a sweet soul she was. Now that she has earned her wings and met our beloved Dad again, she truly knows how many people’s lives she touched.
Visitation will be held at the Goulet Funeral Home, 310 Argyle St, S, Renfrew on Tuesday July 31st from 2-4, 7-9 pm and after 9:00 am Wednesday August 1st. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Most Precious Blood Church, Calabogie on Wednesday August 1st at 10:30 am. Interment parish cemetery. Donations, in memory of Gertrude may be made to the Dementia Society. Online condolences/donations may be made at www.gouletfuneralhome.com
