Obituary of Gerine Freeman
FREEMAN, Gerine Lois (nee Mott) – age 80 of High Crest Place, New Glasgow and formerly of Waterside, Pictou County, passed away June 1, 2018 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Dartmouth, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred Coleman and Ethel Ellen (Clarke) Mott of Dartmouth. Gerine was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 28, Stellarton, a member of St. James Anglican Church, Pictou and also a Girl Guide Leader. She is survived by her daughter, Darlene (Grant) Kehoe, Calgary; brothers, David (Patty) Mott, Dartmouth; Bruce (Elayne) Mott, East Dalhousie; Blaine (Marielle) Mott, Comox, BC; sister, Judy (David) Austen, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Tammy Lynn Cook (Leigh), Truro; Tanya Lee Cook (Maggie), Moncton; James (Nancy) Kehoe, Jill (James) Kehoe, Adam (Mirela) Kehoe, Calgary and Laura Freeman; great- grandchildren, Cavan and Madison MacLean, Kaylee Cook, Rory and Connor Gibbons Kehoe. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Douglas Freeman (2010); son, Paul William Freeman (1993), and brothers, Garnet Mott and Wilfred Jr. (Olga) Mott, both of Dartmouth. Visitation will be held 1-2 PM Wednesday, with funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM in the McLaren Funeral Home Chapel, Pictou. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Northumberland Veteran’s Unit Comfort Fund. www.mclarenfuneral.ca
