Murray Gerard Archibald 72, of Mulgrave passed away Wednesday July 11, 2018 at the Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Born in Mulgrave he was a son of the late Ornan V. and Anastasia “Annie” (Forestall) Murray.
A fisherman all his life, Gerard went to work at Acadia Fisheries at the age of 15, following the fire that destroyed Acadia Fisheries he fished out of Canso for over 30 years. He enjoyed playing Bingo and trying his luck on a pull tab ticket and was an avid crib player; in his later years he enjoyed spending time on his computer, keeping in touch with friends and accepting the occasional challenge on Bejeweled, however his favorite time was spent with his grandchildren.
He will be missed by his wife Ann (Edwards); children Gerard C. Jr. (Jenny), Rick (Debbie), Elaine (Artie), Glenda (Russ), Cathy (Leroy), John Allan (Angie), Roxanne (Everett), Christopher, Stephen(Brittany); grandchildren Bryson, Andrea, Jordan, Dalton, Devon, Hannah, Taylor, Bryanna, Machara, Breton, Ben, Addison, Jaxson, Willow, Caiden and Baby M; sisters Jane, Marie,and Sandra.Missed by nieces, nephews, close extended family, friends and his dogs Macey and scrappy AKA Tres .
He was predeceased by his granddaughter Megan Samantha, Sister Anne and Brothers Sam and Leo.
Resting in the Mulgrave and Area Resting Place on Saturday from 7-9 pm and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm; Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 2 pm from St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church by Rev. Allan MacPhie .
