Obituary of Gerald Marshall
Marshall, Gerald Wilbur – 93, of Smiths Cove, Digby Co., passed away January 30, 2018, in Yarmouth General Hospital. Born in South Range, he was a son of the late Eli and Gladys (Haight) Marshall. Gerald met Pauline when she was teaching in South Range. After he served with the Royal Canadian Air Force they were married in 1946 and began their family. He worked for many years at Cannex, CFB Cornwallis. He was a life long carpenter who spilled much blood, sweat and tears transforming their family home. Gerald and Pauline loved bowling, travelling and square dancing. Gerald also took great pleasure in his vegetable garden. But his greatest joy in life was his family. He is survived by his sons, Gordon (Cathy Bowers) of Liverpool, Michael (Cindy) of Dartmouth; daughters, Eleanor (John) Roop of Smiths Cove, Sylvia (Doug) Woodman of Smiths Cove and Heather (Andy) Wilson of Digby; 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; sister, Vivian. He was predeceased by his wife, Pauline Frances (Griffiths); son, Rodney; grandsons, Kenny Roop and Steve Woodman; sister, Blanche; brothers, Myron, Eldred and Eldon. Visitation will be held 2-4 pm Tuesday, February 6th, with a funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 7th, 2018, both in the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. Pastor Mark Cress officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodman Cemetery, Joggin Bridge. Donations in Gerald’s memory may be sent to a charity of one’s choice.
