Obituary of Gerald Raspberry
With great sadness, the family of Gerald Raspberry announces his passing at the age of 83 on March 19th. Gerald was born in Worsley to a pioneer family and, until his move to Grande Prairie in 2009, he remained there to work and raise his own family. While operating his grain and cattle farm, he served many years on the Local ID Advisory Council, the North Peace Gas Co-op, Worsley Agricultural Society and many other community and farm related organizations well into his retirement. He was well respected for his hard work ethic, honesty, generosity and easy laugh. He is terribly missed by his wife Pat whom he married in 1958, his sister Evelyn (Real), his children Karyn, Jo & Craig, his four grandchildren Jordan, Damaris, Coltin (Ashley) & Gage and extended family.
A tribute to Gerry will be held April 20th at 2pm in the Fairview Legion Hall, followed by refreshments. It is the family’s wish for anyone who would like to speak be given a chance to do so and we encourage your stories and memories. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the University of Alberta Hospital Foundation or STARS Grande Prairie.
