OBITUARY
Gerald Mitchell
19 June , 1955 – 30 September , 2018
Mitchell, Gerald:
After shouldering the burden of chronic illnesses and fighting with tenacity, determination and with everything he had, time and time again, Jerry passed away at the age of 63 on Sunday, September 30, 2018. Jerry is survived by his “sweetheart” daughter Jen Ford and son, Mark. He adored his grandchildren, Isaac, Owen, Sydney and Leah. He was predeceased by his parents, Al and Dolores Mitchell and survived by his siblings, Tom (Maryanne), Brian, Diane Laurentino (Dave), and Dave (Kim). Jerry was loved by his nieces and nephews, Tom and Mike Mitchell, Alyssa and Matthew Laurentino and Kaitlyn and Rachel Mitchell. Jerry proudly joined the Brantford Fire Department in 1977 as a firefighter and later went on to become a Fire Inspector before retiring in 1998. The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS’ FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL”, 96 West St., on Wednesday, October 3rd, 2018 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 133 Murray St. on Thursday, October 4th, 2018 at 11am. Cremation to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Lupus Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
