Gerald’s Obituary
O’Neill, Gerald Joseph ~ age 84 of Greenwood Square, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Montreal, Quebec, Gerald was a son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Cullen) O’Neill and was the last living member of his immediate family. He was a former employee at Loyola College, now known as Concordia University, where he worked in carpentry maintenance. He was also an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 98, Kingston. Gerald had a great sense of humour and loved to tell stories. He was an animal lover and often cared for stray cats that would come to the house. He also owned several companion dogs during his lifetime. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Mary Jane (Ryan); brothers-in-law, Clarence (Connie) Ryan and Robert (Alex) Ryan; and several nieces and nephews. Besides, his parents, Gerald was predeceased by his brother, Ambrose; and sisters, Nancy, Josie and Kay. In keeping with Gerald’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will take place in the spring in Aylesford United Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Kings County SPCA.
