Gerald’s Obituary
STILLWELL, Gerald Edward ~ age 85 of Middleton, NS, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2018, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Bloomington, he was the son of the late John and Sophie (nee Newcombe) Stillwell. Gerald joined the RCAF in 1952 and served 33 years at bases in Canada including two NATO bases, Marville, France and Lahr, Germany. He was a past member of the Middleton Rotary Club. He liked country music and enjoyed playing the guitar and fiddle. Gerald was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Betty Whynock; son, Gerry (Bonnie Burns); daughters, Doreen and Allison; grandchildren, Amy, Dana, Lindsey, Melanie, Loni and 11 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. He was predeceased by brothers, John “Jack”, Tremaine, Murray, Glendon; sisters, Patricia Bater and Leota Hannam. Cremation has taken place and by request there will be no visitation or memorial service. There will be a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, from 2:00PM – 4:00PM at Nictaux Fire Hall for family and friends. Donations in memory can be made to Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Pine Grove Cemetery or charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448.
