George Perkons
PERKONS, GEORGE It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Perkons, Dartmouth on August 15, 2018 at the Dartmouth General Hospital in his 84th year. He is survived by his wife Carolyn, son Christopher (Barbara) and Grandson, Ryan. Also survived by sisters Mirdza Drengers, Florida and Austra Veidins (Juris), Massachusetts, Sister in Law, Iris Martin (Henry) and many neices and nephews. George was predeceased by his Mum and Dad Vilhelms and Irma (Valdman) Perkons. Born in Riga, Latvia George immigrated to Nova Scotia at the age of 19 years. He was a heavy duty mechanic working for Halterm and in later years, Ceres Halifax. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held for George at Atlantic Funeral Homes,771 Main Street, Dartmouth on Friday, August 17th, 2018 at 2:00 pm. with Rev. Dr. Joyce Ross officiating. Family flowers only and in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dartmouth East Christian Food Bank, 54 Woodlawn Road, Dartmouth, B2W 2S1.
