In Loving Memory
BELL, George – It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of George on Mon July 09th, 2018 in his 91st year. Beloved husband and best friend to Kathleen (form. Smith) for 21 years.
Loving and cherished father to George Bell JR., Christopher (Kathy) Bell and step-children: Loralynn, Vicki-Lynn, Edward and Kerry James.
Special Grampa to Erica (Kyle) Messina, Daniel Bell (Kylie), Kassidy and Brandon Bell and Jacob Longmuir as well as many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
George is survived by his sister Marjorie Dawson and his brother Dr. Rev. Ralph Bell.
He will be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Predeceased by his first wife Carole Bell, his siblings Leslie, Bob, Dorothy, June and Jean and his step-daughter Gwendolynn.
George was a much loved teacher with the Niagara Catholic School Board for 33 years retiring in 1988. He was an avid baseball pitcher taking great pride in being a part of an all-black hockey and baseball team. He also enjoyed his time as a goal tender on several hockey teams.
George’s family will receive friends and guests at PLEASANTVIEW FUNERAL HOME (2000 Merrittville Hwy at the corner of Hwy #20) 905-892-1699 on Fri July 13th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A funeral service to honour his life will be held at the British Methodist Church – Salem Chapel (92 Geneva St. St.Catharines) on Mon July 16th at 11:00 a.m. with interment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery to follow. Memorial donations to World vision Canada will be appreciated by his family. You are invited to share your memories and condolences on-line at www.pleasantviewcemetery.ca
