George Albert Bert Tyson Share

1946 – 2018
Bert was born March 18, 1946 and passed suddenly at his home in Robson on November 24, 2018. He was a gentle man who loved living up the lake while Casey was alive helping her with ‘the guys’. Over the course of his life Bert was a landlord, liquor store manager, and Bridge club owner. He was the middle child in a family of five siblings and was raised in the Vancouver area.
Bert assisted the Lion’s Head Cubs slowpitch team volunteering as the beer fund manager—and introduced the ever popular punch card—no need to carry cash! He also loved to play poker and was a good bluffer.
Bert was a very private person who lived his life on his own terms and happily smoked until the day he died. On his walk home from the bus stop there were often several neighborhood dogs patiently waiting for their treat from Bert.
In the past few months his health was deteriorating and he relied on his friends for rides more often. His calming presence and help with yard work and house sitting will be missed.
There will be a service of remembrance at a later date, likely in the spring time—around his birthday.
Rest in peace, dear friend.
