DAWSON, Geoffrey Victor
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vic on September 24, 2018 at the St. Catharines General at the age of 61. Beloved brother of Sandra Dawson. Survived by his cousins in Toronto and Northern Ireland. He will be fondly missed by his close friends Mark Burkholder, Roy York, Paul Ireland, Steve Armstrong, Mary Ann Bradley, Lee Parnall and Lisa Spurvey and his cat Jed. Predeceased by his parents Joan and Geoffrey Dawson.
Vic was born in Belfast Northern Ireland. He started his apprenticeship in 1976 at Stelco and in 1981 made the move to General Motors as a millwright, where he retired from after 36 years in 2017. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, reader, loved hockey, especially the Toronto Maple Leafs, and football.
As per Vic’s wishes, cremation has taken place and family will receive friends at Hulse & English, 75 Church Street, on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to the nurses at the St. Catharines General 3rd Floor Oncology 3B for their attentiveness, kindness and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to The Lung Association of Canada or to Princess Margaret Lung Cancer Research would be appreciated.
