OBITUARY
Genevieve Murphy
June 13, 1916 – August 21, 2018
Born June 13, 1916 in Carbonear, NL, passed away peacefully at Parkwood Mennonite Home, Waterloo, Ontario, Tuesday August 21, 2018 in her 103th year.
She leaves behind her children; Linda Miller (Leo), Michael (Barbara), John (Mary), Raymond (Sandra), Kevin (Sharon) Lois Keachie (Thomas) and Carol Korec (John), 21 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and sister Gwen Ward (Cambridge). Predeceased by her husband John Murphy 1996, daughter Joan, son in law Leo, parents Michael and Mary Donnelly, siblings Tom, Paul, Lois, Joseph, Michael, Madelaine, John, Mary, Vincent and step sister Theresa Beaton. Lovingly cared for by her daughter Lois and son in law Thomas. Genevieve married and raised her 8 children on Bell Island before she moved to Ontario in 1964. She was well known for her baked beans, lassie buns, and homemade bread. Her recipes will never be duplicated as they were made from memory and no measuring cups were used. Family will receive friends on Thursday August 23, 2018 at T. LITTLE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 223 Main Street, Cambridge, for visitation from 10am-12pm. Funeral Mass will follow at 1pm at St. Patrick’s Parish, 53 Wellington Street, Cambridge. Cremation to follow. Thanks to staff at Parkwood Mennonite Home for their wonderful care. Please no flowers, donations to Parkwood Mennonite Home or Innisfree House would be appreciated.
