It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Garry Ward of Campbell River, BC who was born in Souris, PG. He passed away suddenly on July 30th at the age of 64.
Garry leaves behind his sisters; Gail (Charlie) Kemp, Jackie (Randy) Wong, Darlene (Dwayne) Peters/Doiron, brothers; Darrell (Kathy), Ron (Cheryl), Gordon (Barb), Jeff (Shannon), many nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
Garry was predeceased by his father Gordon in 1998 and in 2010 by his dear mother, Irene. Garry hailed from Glen William, PEI and made his way to Esquimalt, BC via the Armed Forces. He left the Army and moved to Port Alice to work at the pulp mill. In the early ‘80s he moved to Vancouver, BC and worked for AJ Forsyth, now known as Russel Metals, and after 32 of service, his retirement came in 2016.
Garry promptly moved to Campbell River, BC to be closer to family. He so enjoyed being here with his brothers and sister, the lifestyle and his new home.
Garry loved his family, home cooking, music and playing his guitar or standing around the firepit telling stories. He was an avid taekwondo student, enjoyed lake fishing and was always open for a great joke and a good laugh.
Garry’s remains were cremated. No service by request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a children’s charity.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of Eric Toneff.
