1945-2018
Garry Joseph Porter of Plaster Rock, NB, passed away at home on
December 17, 2018 after a brief illness.
Garry was born in Bath, NB, on July 3, 1945. He was the son of
Christina Porter (Sullivan) and the late Joseph Porter. Beside his
mother, who is a resident of the Tobique Valley Manor, Garry leaves
behind his wife, Maureen Porter (LeBel); his children, Ryan Porter
(Danielle) of Fredericton, NB, Jennifer Caron (Marcel) of
St-André, NB; his grandchildren, Lannie and Emma Porter; his
sister, Marilyn Albert (Marven Goodine); several nieces and nephews;
his brothers-in-law, Kent (Kim) LeBel, Greg (Darlene) LeBel both of
Plaster Rock, NB; his sister-in-law, Gail LeBel.
Garry was predeceased by his father and his brothers-in-law, Gordon
LeBel and Louis Albert.
Garry worked at Ralph F. Sadler for the past 45 years and retired in
August of 2018. Garry enjoyed watching his grandchildren playing
sports. He played baseball in his early years and was a fan of the
Montreal Canadiens and the Boston Red Sox. He will be missed by his
family and friends for his knowledge and his advice.
Resting at St. Andrew’s United Church in Plaster Rock, NB, with
visitation on Wednesday from 6-8 pm. Funeral service will be held on
Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 2 pm from the church. Mr. Kenneth
Campbell officiating. Interment will be in the Plaster Rock Community
Cemetery at a later date.
For those who wish, memorial donations to St. Andrew’s United Church
or to the Mama Bear Cancer Fund would be appreciated by the
family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home,
Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock.
