MR. GARNET MELBURN LONEY
of Peterborough
Garnet passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Fairhaven Nursing Home in Peterborough on Wednesday February 15, 2018 in his 87th year.
Garnet Loney, beloved husband of the late Joyce Loney (nee Williams).
Dear father of April Simser (Steven) of Edmonton, Alberta and Lori Rapati (Joseph) of Peterborough, Ontario.
Loving grandfather of Jeff Simser (Kandice) of Okotoks, Alberta, Jay Simser (Ivorn) of Leduc, Alberta, Holly Broddy (Daniel) of Surrey, British Columbia, Kevin Rapati (Laney) of Peterborough, Ontario and great grandfather of Rylan, Aliyah, Micah, and Shiloh.
Predeceased by siblings: Edna, Evylen, Melvin, Phyllis, Jack, Marleen and Donabelle.
Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home – Moore Chapel, 9 Paget Street in Sundridge on Friday February 23, 2018 from 10-10:45 A.M.
A tribute service of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #390 will be conducted in the chapel on Friday February 23, 2018 at 10:45 A.M. followed by a service to celebrate the life of the late Garnet Loney with Reverend Rick Callery officiating.
Spring interment at the South River Cemetery.
If desired, memorial donations to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
