Gail Elizabeth (Jenken) McKimm
1959-2018
It is with great sadness that we
announce the death of Gail Elizabeth (Jenken) McKimm of Bristol on
Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville
surrounded by her family. Born on September 20, 1959 in Niagara Falls,
Ontario, she was the daughter of Elizabeth “Betty” (Cuming)
Jenken and the late Harold Meade Jenken.
Mom was
the matriarch, always calling to check in on us and sending care
packages if needed. Many names she went by was mom, nana, meter, momma
gail and Gail. She not only loved the time she spent with family but
the time she spent with others. Quick witted, strong willed,
independent, as well as stubborn are many words that easily come to
mind when we think of her. Always had a delicious meal prepared for
people when they were around, especially for her granddaughter, it was
not often you left her house hungry. Being a mother was her true
calling, to everyone not just her direct family, to the extent that
she formed a lifelong career caring for others. Many of our friends
considered her as their “second mom” and did not hesitate to
seek advice from her when around. She was the wisest of all and was
loved by so many.
She will be deeply missed by
her loving husband, Eugene “Bub” McKimm; daughters Tara
McKimm (O’Shea Daley), Tricia McKimm (Caleb Smith) and Hannah Ginson
(Nathan); granddaughter Chloe McKimm and a soon to be grandson; mother
Betty Jenken; brothers Michael “Mike” Jenken (Cathy), Bruce
Moor, John McKimm, Malcolm McKimm; sister Lavina Mckimm (Larry); many
granddogs and grandcats, as well as several extended family members
and close friends.
Gail is now reunited with her
father, her sister Patricia “Pat” Moore and brother Brian
McKimm.
We would like to thank the doctors,
nurses and staff of the Upper River Valley Hospital, especially the
CCU unit staff for their care and compassion during difficult
time.
Visitation will take place at L.R. Giberson
Funeral Directors on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 2-4 &
6-8 pm. A memorial service will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral
Chapel on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11:00 am. Donations in Mom’s
memory would be greatly appreciated to an SPCA of your area or River
Valley Cancer Support Group. Love you to the moon and back an infinite
amount of times. www.gibersonfuneraldirectors.ca (506)
