G. Ambrose Bowles
1925-2018
Bowles, G. Ambrose,
age 93, of Lower Springfield passed away on
July 14, 2018 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish
surrounded by his family.
Born in Alder River, he was the son of
the late George and Mary Ann (MacDonald) Bowles.
Ambrose was a devoted
husband to his wife Teresa, until her death in 2004, and was a loving
father, grandfather and great grandfather. He had a very deep
spiritual faith
that was evident in his involvement in
St. Andrew’s Parish and
his faithful
visits
to Ste. Anne De Beaupre every year for
thirty-eight years. He was a veteran of WWII and a member or Arras
Branch 58 Royal Canadian Legion. He enjoyed
the outdoors and spending time shearing his Christmas trees. He was a
passionate Toronto Maple Leaf’s fan, good crib player and an
amazing storyteller. Ambrose will be
remembered as a good man
and will be missed
by his family and
many.
He is survived by his daughter in law
Erma (late Donald Bowles), Springfield; children: Madonna Hall,
Calgary; Sandra (Jim) Graham, Coutts, Alta; Carmen (Angela) Bowles,
Lanark; Debbie (Bill) MacLellan, Cole Harbour; Darlene Bowles,
Calgary; Gerard (Kim) Bowles, Springfield; Angela (Glen) Rooney, Cole
Harbour; grandchildren: Michael (Erica) Bowles; Stephanie Graham;
Jared (Kelly) and Justine Bowles; Jevin and Nikole MacLellan; Koulton
and Abbey Bowles; Samantha and Jill Rooney; great grandchild, Avia
Langille Bowles.
He was predeceased by his wife, Teresa
(MacPherson); son Donald; brothers Joe, Maurice and Donald; sisters,
Mary and Jennie and son in law, Don Hall.
Visitation will be in C.L.
Curry Funeral Home,
135 College Street, Antigonish on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 10:30 am in St.
Andrew’s Church, St. Andrews with Reverend Andrew Gillies
presiding. Burial in South River Cemetery.
