Obituary for Frederik A. Stapper
Entered into rest peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital, Charles Street Site on Saturday, December 22, 2018. Frederik A. Stapper, at the age of 88 years. Beloved husband of Wijntje (Winnie) and dear father of Leda Edwards (Mike deceased), Peter Stapper (Jody deceased ), Mary Jane Baker (Sheldon), Margaret Stapper (Scott MacKenzie deceased), Carolin Stapper (Randy Earl) and Jackie McGuire (Jeff Abrams). Also survived by his chosen children Nadine Doyle and Doug McGuire as well as his grandchildren Brendon Edwards (Renate), Dustin Wilson (Erin), Caleb Wilson (Megan), Drew McGuire (Hannah), Mich McGuire (Tina), Kylee Gray (Brandon Rhoden), Rebecca Kinch Hogan (Steve), Sam Mayes-MacKenzie; by seven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild. Brother of Riet Zwaan (Wim), Nell Heyman (deceased Albert Heyman and George Vanderwerf ), Jane Osborne (Claude deceased), Peter Stapper (Teresa deceased), Casey Stapper (Inge), John Stapper (Coba), Huiby Allan (Bill deceased), Willie Smithwick and Bonnie Cody (Peter). Brother-in-law of Corrie Velthove (Pieter deceased), Lisa Trapman (Teo deceased), Henry Myderwyk (Jeannette) and Wilma Schuit (Henry). Fred was predeceased by his parents Peter and Aaltje Stapper and by his siblings Klaas Stapper, Margriet Dunlap, and Alice Lupton.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Thursday, December 27th from 7-9pm. A ceremony celebrating Frederik’s life will be held on Friday, December 28th at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, 117 Windsor Drive, Brockville. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Maitland. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the CPHC Adult Day Program, the Brockville Yacht Club Sailing School or the Bethel Christian Reformed Church Building Fund will be gratefully acknowledged.
