Frederick William Clarkson was born on the family pioneering farm north of Maple Creek, Saskatchewan on January 12, 1929 to Frederick and Esther Clarkson of England. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Bernice; his children: Murray, Debora and Susanne; grandchildren: Timothy, Jefforay, Adam, Jennifer and great grandchildren: Austin, Jayda, Ainslee, Claire, Owen and Nolan; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Fred was the second eldest of ten children: Adeline, Fred, Margaret, Bob, Grace, Irene, Albert, Ken, Art and Valentine; and left home at a young age to start working on other farms and ranches. He was taught to work hard and help others; he loved lively horses, cows, dogs, goats, cats and all natures living creatures.
Fred met Bernice while working on a ranch in Coronation, Alberta. After marriage they moved south to Pincher Creek, then Brooks, and back to Pincher Creek. Working as a ranch hand and pipeline construction throughout Saskatchewan, Alberta and BC, finally at the top of his game as the Forman for the town of Coronation. He retired to his acreage in Stettler where horses still played a very big part in his life. Also, by being such a hard worker he made sure he still took care of the nice, elderly people of Stettler by doing yard work and maintenance to keep busy. After more retirement changes they moved to Red Deer to enjoy life to the fullest for the rest of his years. They had a nice apartment with all the amenities of life. He loved passing the time by working on word puzzles and silently supervising all the goings on out on his deck view that over looked the city recreation centre.
Fred passed very peacefully in the Red Deer Hospital on March 22, 2018 with his loving wife by his side and as usual all his children very soon after. Fred loved his family very much and was a awesome provider to his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all the people whom he touched in his life and made it so much brighter.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Frederick William Clarkson 2018.source
