Frederick “Fred” Leidemer
1949-2018
Frederick “Fred”
Andrew Leidemer, 69, of Moncton, passed away Wednesday,
September 12, 2018, at the George L. Dumont Hospital, in
Moncton.
Born in Dover, New Jersey, to the late
George and Elizabeth “Betty” Leidemer, he was the
beloved husband of Karen Leidemer.
Fred has always had a passion for the
natural environment and the animal world. He loved to share those
passions during long conversations over tea. He was
one of the leading voices of the local
Moncton Treekeepers and was relentless in
his defense of the urban forest in the Moncton area. He was
also a bicycle enthusiast and enjoyed riding around on his
vintage Raleigh 3-speed, which he affectionately named
“Emily”. He had an inquisitive mind and loved to
learn.
In addition to his wife, Fred is
survived by daughter Jennifer Raven, a granddaughter and twin
grandsons, his special four-legged friend Zoey and feathery
companion Maco as well as many friends and
family.
Arrangements are in the care of
Salisbury Funeral Home & Crematorium
(372-4800).
There will be no service by request.
If desired, donations in
Fred’s memory can be made to One Tree Planted (onetreeplanted.org)
