Frederick “Fred” Alphonsis Markee
Frederick
“Fred” A. Markee, 88, of Moncton, with his loving family at
his side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday,
December 18, 2018.
Born in
Chamcook, he was the son of the late James and Laura (Beatty) Markee.
Fred was employed with Modern Construction for 43 years. He attended
Lewisville Baptist Church. His hobbies included gardening, tinkering
with his cars and spending time with his
family.
Fred will be
sadly missed by his wife, Muriel (Lee) Markee of Moncton; children,
Frances Hebert of Moncton, Victoria Estey (Jim) of Fredericton and
Edward Markee (Renée) of Cormier Village; grandchildren,
Emily (Jacob), Thomas (Mel), Monica and James; two great
grandchildren, Sophia Hare and Harper Hebert. and several nieces,
nephews and extended family members. He was the last surviving member
of his immediate family.
In addition
to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Robert Markee,
Carmen Markee, Gordon Markee and Lloyd Markee; half brothers and
sisters, Ora Dow, Bertram Dow, Walter Dow, Evelyn Baker, Elva Beriault
and Anna McGuire.
Visitation
will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton
(858-1995) on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A
Service to celebrate and honour Fred’s life will be held
from Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at
10:30 am, with Pastor Gordon MacLeod leading the service. Interment
will be in Elmwood Cemetery in the
spring.
