Andrew Fraser Monteith, age 86, of RR#3 Embro, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on April 29, 2018. Fraser was born in Zorra Township, March 21, 1932 son of the late Edward and Mary (Fraser) Monteith. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 69 years, Mary Monteith. Loving father of Diane Monteith (Sandra Forsyth) and their son Matthew Monteith-Forsyth; Brian Monteith (Louise) and their children Curtis (Lisa), Vanessa, Ryan (Shannon); Harold Monteith (Norma) and their children Christopher (deceased), Tanya Meakin (Jamie); Gary Monteith (Angela) and their children Alicia, Krista Knudsen (Ted), Trevor Rose (Brooke). Great-grandfather of Emma, Connor, Hayden, Chelsea, Leigha, Benjamin, Clara, Sophie and Elliott. Also survived by a sister Gayle McCaul (Jim) and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister-in-law Jean Allison (Frank) and by his mother-in-law and father-in-law Violet and Leonard Burgess. Fraser was retired from Standard Tube, Woodstock. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with family and garage saling. Friends may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Saturday, May 5 from 6 – 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 noon until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. followed by a reception. A family interment will take place in Harrington Cemetery.
