Frank Howard Burgess (August 10 1952 February 27 2018)

Frank Howard Burgess – age 65, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Dartmouth General Hospital on Tuesday, February 27, 2018. Born in Sydney, N.S., he was a son of Edythe and the late Ernest Burgess. Besides being survived by his mother Edythe, Frank is also survived by sister Lynn (Bruce Hilchey) Burgess, brother Trevor (Anne-Marie) Burgess, niece Saxon (Jordan Taggart) Burgess, nephews, Keenan Burgess and Mark (Katie Smith) Landry, and Sindy McGinn, (Saxon and Keenan’s mother). He is also survived by his many cousins and two Uncles. Frank loved sports and was a die-hard fan of the Montreal Canadiens and New York Yankees, he also enjoyed watching his niece and nephews play their various sports and was very proud of their accomplishments. He was a long-time employee with the Bedford Institute of Oceanography retiring as a Hydrographer in 2013. After retirement, he looked forward to the monthly luncheons where he got to catch up with his former colleagues and friends. Frank was predeceased by his father, Ernest (2002), his paternal grand parents, Frank and Annie Burgess and maternal grand parents, Howard and Mary Reid. There will be a visitation on Sunday, March 4, from 2 – 4 pm at the Dartmouth Funeral Home, on 29 Queen Street. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
