Obituary for Frank Daniel Conrad
Frank Daniel Conrad passed away in Truro on April 15, 2018 at the age of 98 years. Born in Truro October 1, 1919, he was the son of T.A. and Ann Conrad. He was a veteran of WWII and served overseas from June 1940 until December 1945. Frank was employed with the Soldiers Settlement and Veterans Land Administration from 1946 until his retirement in 1979. He was an active member of the Truro Kinsman Club and Truro Golf Club for many years. He was also a member of the St. John’s Anglican Parish and a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jean and daughter, Betty Hill; brothers, Arthur, George, Ronald and Robert; sisters, Margaret, Nina, Lena, Thea, Connie and Kathleen. He is survived by his son, Richard (Betty) and daughter, Jean Ann Athanasiou (Tom); son-in-law, Arthur Hill; grandchildren, Lisa (Hill) Morgan, Derek Conrad, Craig Hill, Heather (Conrad) Boyd, Andrew Athanasiou and Janet Athanasiou. Also by great grandchildren, Brett, Josie and Abby Conrad, Amy and Jonah Morgan, Liam Boyd, and Libby Hill, as well as many nieces and nephews. Friends can pay their respects on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 2 p.m. – 4p.m. at Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St, Truro. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice. Frank’s family would like to express sincere thanks to Dr. Neil Bower, the staff at Purdy Lane, Cedarstone Residence and Rev.
