Obituary Overview
PATTERSON, Frances
Frances
Marie Patterson (Frannie) was born on October 10, 1946 in Harrow, Ontario to
Evelyn Marie Scott and Clarence Leslie Talbot. To know her was to love her. She
was very private and respected everyone else privacy. She was truly unique, one
of a kind, strong, positive, motivated, encouraging, confident, selfless and
creative. She was a humble Christian woman with the strongest faith ever. Fran
was full of so much wisdom about basically everything, she was a walking
encyclopedia. She took psychology and that’s why she could read people!
Why
fit in when you were born to stand out. Unconditional love was displayed daily
whether it was reciprocated or not. Life was all about her children,
grandchildren and those she loved. She was very private and loved quiet time
with the Lord. Anybody allowed into her space should feel honored to have a
real trusted, true confidant in her.
Frances
accepted Christ at an early age. She loved the Lord with all her heart, mind
and soul. Always referencing God’s favor, grace and mercy. Her faith was
remarkably strong, through all test and trials of life. God kept her in her right mind despite the
obstacles.
Yes,
she was like a palm tree with roots grounded so deeply during the bending and
blowing this was unable to uproot or break her. She never waivered in her faith
nor doubted.
Fran
and Heidi shared singing in the church choir. What a beautiful example of love
and closeness, Timmy, Selina and mom were baptized together on the beach. Her
mission was volunteering in her churches, helping in the kitchen, feeding and
clothing the homeless was her mission. She loved cooking, fishing, gardening,
cleaning, dancing, singing and could fix just about anything. Feeding her loved
ones and spending quality time was one of her greatest joys. Keeping family
close and on one accord was very important. She would give anyone her last. She
was very proud and didn’t ask anyone for anything. Mom called everyone dear and
babes.
Blessed to be able to
call you mom. She pushed and encouraged and always lifted us to do and be the
very best we can be. “It doesn’t matter what people say about you, they talked
about Jesus Christ”. “Lift your head up when you fall, and you’ll get up
again”. But most important “pull up your boot straps”.
Fran was a God fearing
woman and Jesus was the centre of her life. Everything and every conversation
resulted in giving glory and praise to God. Every situation good or bad was an
opportunity to see Him in it. She was always there for everyone and tried to
solve their problems.
Many times over the
years, mom would say that “I don’t believe he brought you this far to leave
you”. Remember that song now Heidi, he’s always there with you. He didn’t bring
you this far to leave you. If He allowed it, it will bless you. Keep your faith
and stay focused on the goodness of God. Mom didn’t require much and was happy
about the most minor things, like a coco-cola pop. She loved shopping always,
saying “I don’t care if I’m only buying toilet paper, as long as I’m swinging a
bag”!!!! SO true. LOL. Watching old sitcoms for days, like The Jefferson,
Cosby’s, and Good Times. “If He has to, God will sit you down somewhere if you
don’t listen, He knows how to get your attention”.
Mom reminded you that
she didn’t want to tip the scales or to be off balanced. No one wanted to feel
or hear that side of her. It wasn’t often, but its something you wouldn’t want
to see again. “That’s it and that’s all”. She was tiny but powerful. Her look and everything starts with
that look.
Mom was very tired now
and expressed that for years. The Doctor said” She should’ve been gone a long
time ago. I don’t understand how she’s still here?” Mom’s strength was gone a
long time ago. But God’s strength
kept her. God had the final say.
Left
to remember her loving memory are her loving children, William, Kevin, Heidi,
Brian, Timothy and Selina (Darquel). Grandmother of Amanda (Ni-ni), Tyson,
L’Joia, Malcolm, Marquel, Cecelia, Justin, Timothy Jr (Glenda), Timisha,

him the Earl Flinn dance when he was two years old! Ex-husband Billy Patterson,
also God blessed her with her one true love Eddie Jackson. Sisters and

you girl.
