Everett Leigh Chambers
1934-2018
Everett Chambers of Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home passed
away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, April 19, 2018. Born in
Mapleton, NB., he was the son of the late William and Viola (Hubley)
Chambers.
Everett began his career at Glendale Memorial Gardens in
Toronto where he worked for twelve years as the Superintendent. He
later became Co-Owner of MacPherson Builders 1978 (Ltd.) until he
suffered a debilitating stroke in 1993. He was very much a people
person and will always be remembered for his love of camping, card
games, playing horseshoes in the Elgin League and time well spent with
friends and family.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Marilyn
(MacPherson) Chambers; daughters, Lorna Leigh Steeves (Stephen) and
Shawna Butland (Sheldon) of Riverview; son, Todd Chambers (Pat) of
Ottawa, ON; grandchildren: Warren (Allison), Scott, Kortnie (Adam),
Meaghan (Jon), Sherilynn (Shawn); great-grandchildren: Landon, Blake
and Jake; a brother Bernard Chambers (Blossom) of Musquodoboit
Harbour, NS; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In
addition to his parents, Everett was predeceased by his siblings:
Donald, Wesley, Murray, Dean and Doreen.
In keeping with Everett’s wishes, there will be no
public visitation or funeral service. A family graveside service will
be held at a later date in the New Elgin Cemetery, Elgin, NB.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Cobb’s
Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview, NB.,
E1B 0E4 (869-2007). Donations can be made in Everett’s
memory to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, New Elgin Cemetery, or a
memorial of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be
expressed at www.cobbsfuneralhome.ca
Special thank you to the staff of Spencer’s for the
exceptional care given to Everett during his stay. We are grateful to
his nephew, Jason Bourque, for his compassion.
