It is with deep sadness that we the family announce the peaceful passing of Eva Mae Ryan, age 88, of New Waterford on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital with her family by her side.
Born in Halifax on August 21, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Myrtle (Richardson) Price.
Eva loved Bingo, knitting, crocheting and weekly outings for lunch and shopping. Eva was a supporter of Island Breast Friends.
Eva is survived by a daughter, Valerie (Rick) Carrigan, grandson, Richard (Melanie) Carrigan; sister, Shirley Chopeck.
Besides her parents, Eva was predeceased by her husband, Lennie Ryan; son, George ; sisters, Ellen Williamson, Dorothy Preston and a brother, Bill Price.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 22 from 6-9 pm at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. The funeral mass officiated by Fr. Ray Huntley is Wednesday, 2 p.m. in St. Leonard Church, Mt. Carmel Avenue.
A reception will follow at the KOC Hall, Plummer Avenue and then interment will be in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Donations can be made to the Cancer Patient Comfort Fund at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation or to a charity of one’s choice.
