Dora Crawford passed away peacefully on the evening of July 25, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Dora is survived by her son, Colin Crawford (Elizabeth); daughter, Joanne Pearson; Grandsons, Christopher Pearson, Cody Pearson and Casey Pearson; and great granddaughter, Dallas Pearson (daughter of Cody Pearson). Dora grew up in Springhill, Nova Scotia. It is there she met her husband, Charlie. After the second world war, Charlie and Dora were invited by family to move west, settling in Vancouver where Charlie learned the trade of carpentry. Vancouver was a little wet for their tastes, however, a friend told them it was dry in the Okanagan and to look there. Arriving in Penticton in the 1950’s, a visual feast met them, the blossoms of the Kaleden orchards mirrored in Skaha Lake. Dora fell in love with Penticton at first sight and told Charlie she found the place she wanted to live her life and raise a family. She lived the rest of her life in Penticton. Dora had a great love for animals, having had several dogs and cats throughout her life. Dora spent countless hours fishing with husband Charlie and family. She was a wonderful mother who always had your back. She did everything she could for her children and was as loving a mother as anyone could ask for. She was an expert cribbage player, worked as the Head Clerk for Interior Health, and always had an opinion if you asked her for one. She was an easy-going person and loved by all her family and friends. She will be missed. Rest in Peace, Mum. She loved to donate to worthy charities.
