1918-2018
Ethel Bannister, 100, of Petitcodiac, passed away
peacefully at The Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home on Saturday,
September 22, 2018. Born in Midgic, Westmorland County, she was the
daughter of the late Alberta Hicks and widow of Harold
Bannister.
She was a member of the Glades Baptist Church, and
a member of the Women’s Missionary Society through the church. She
loved knitting, crocheting and cooking.
Ethel is survived by her daughter; Bernice Gray;
sons, Eldon, George (Arlene) and Arthur (Marjorie) Bannister; several
grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren;
sisters, Edie Corey, Vernisha Yabsley (George), Eva Fahie (Bernard);
brothers, Charlie, Herbert (Joke Lissenberg) and Rev. John Holt
(Diane); daughters-in-law, Judy, Sheila and Billie Bannister; many
nieces and nephews.
Besides her mother and husband, Ethel
was predeceased by her daughter, Rachel; sons, James, Joe, Clarence,
and Johnny; granddaughter, Kathleen; sister, Eudora Hicks; brothers,
Robert, Frank, James and Richard Holt; son-in-law, Robert
Gray.
There will be a family Graveside Service at
Maplewood Cemetery on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 2 pm with Rev.
John Holt officiating. Arrangements are in the care of Salisbury
Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106 (372-4800).
If desired, memorials to a charity of the donor’s
choice would be appreciated by the family.
