It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Esther May Langille (nee Jackson) on March 1, 2018, in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow, Nova Scotia surrounded by her loving family. Born December 21, 1961 in Montague, Prince Edward Island, she was a daughter of the late Alvin and Geraldine, formerly of Murray Harbour. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert; sons, Randy (Kate) and Ian Byrne; sister, Ruth MacConnell (Brian Paige); brother, Frankie Jackson (Patti Sampson); sister-in-law, Sally Adams. Esther was the cherished Nana to Viola and Michael, and is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, dear friends, Northumberland Ferries colleagues, and fellow members of the Caribou District Fire Department. Visitation will take place Sunday, March 4, 2018, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, March 5, 2018, at 11:30 am, from the Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Pictou. Following the funeral, a reception will be held at the Caribou Fire Hall. Donations in Esther’s memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or the Caribou District Fire Department.
