Bathurst – Mrs. Estelle
Gionet, wife of the late Médore Gionet, of Chaleur St.,
Bathurst, passed away Thursday, December 20th,
2018 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst at the age of
94.
Born in Grande-Anse, she was the
daughter of Stanislas and Brigitte (Cormier)
Dugas.
She is survived by one son, Jean Paul
Gionet of Bathurst and one daughter, Claudette Maher (Peter) of
Bathurst and 4 grandchildren: Christine, Trevor, Matthew and
Jenny.
Four brothers: Edgar Dugas of Duguay
Office, Raoul Dugas (Suzanne), Oscar Dugas (Jeannine) and Maurice
Dugas (Marielle) all of
Grand-Anse.
Three sisters:
Thérèse Hachey (Kenneth), Aurore Blanchard both
of Bathurst and Mona DeGrace of Moncton. Several nieces and
nephews.
Besides her husband, she was
predeceased by a daughter Antoinette, two sisters, Corrine, Laurette
and brothers, Gérard and
Valmond.
There will be no visitation at the
Funeral Home. Funeral service will be celebrated on
Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. from Elhatton Funeral Home
Chapel, St. George St. Arrangements are in the care of
Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com),
Bathurst.
In memory of Estelle donations may be
made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
The family would like to express their
gratitude to the doctors and staff of 4th East
and Palliative Care Unit of the Chaleur Regional Hospital for the care
given to Estelle during her
illness.
