Ernest Carey
Carey, Ernest (Ernie) passed away peacefully with family and friends by his side on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the age of 71 years. He was predeceased by his father, Stewart; mother, Stella; brother, Wally; his loving wife, Brenda and many members of his extended family. He is survived by sister, Verna (Mervin) Bay and his daughter, Shauna (Rob Dollansky), his grandson, Cam (Jasmine), and granddaughters, Kennedy and Jillian. Ernest will be lovingly remembered by his family, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family, friends and coworkers. Ernest was born on January 8, 1947 near Ardath, SK. He lived on the farm with his family and Grandfather, William Carey. In 1973, Ernest married Brenda and they spent 36 wonderful years together. In 1977 they had one daughter Shauna. Ernest was very dedicated and hard-working, he had many jobs over the years prior to his career working for the SLGA until retirement. He enjoyed being outdoors and all sports! Actively participating in ball and hockey as a child, and then proudly coaching and managing various different hockey and ball teams for nephews, his daughter and his grandson over the years. He always put family first. Ernest will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends and coworkers.
