Elwin Patrick Gahan
October 10,1927-December 20, 2018
Passed away peacefully at home, Thursday December 20, 2018. Elwin Gahan of McNab-Braeside at the age of 91. Beloved husband of 68 years to Phyllis (Storie) Gahan. Much loved father of Barrie (Debbie), Garnett (Carol), Murray (Janice), Peter (Debbie) and Faith Colovic (Hilo). Predeceased by son John (2016). Cherished grandfather of Katharine, Amy, Megan, Jessica, Erin, Carolyn, Liam, Michael, Leah, Trevor, Kelly and Adam and most cherished great-grandfather of Quinn, Morgan, Layla, Caden, Ava, Finnely, Gareth, Georgia, McLean, Laughlin, Logan and Tyler. Dear brother of Mary Fairfield of Arnprior (late Paddy). Survived by his nieces and nephew. Son of the late Patrick and Neta (Armitage) Gahan. Elwin was an original shantyman and lumberman logging and lumbering the Ottawa Valley for many years. He was a local farmer and carpenter who dedicated his life to his family, his work, community and church. In his later years, he enjoyed a good game of euchre. Dearly missed by all. Friends are invited to join his family for visitation at the Boyce Funeral Home, Chapel, Visitation and Reception Centre, 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior Saturday December 22, 2018 from 12 noon until time of service at 2:00 p.m. in the Boyce Chapel. Cremation to follow. Spring interment Castleford Union Cemetery. In memoriams can be made to the Calvary Pentecostal Church, Renfrew or the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation.
