Elsie Olesia Raina November 15th 2018

Elsie (Olesia) Raina passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 15, 2018. Elsie is survived by her husband of 65 years, Louis and her children, Patsy (Paul), Linda, Bob (Patty), and Lisa (Kevin). She was Baba to 11 grandchildren, and 6 2/3 great-grandchildren. Elsie was born on April 9, 1931 and raised in Poplarfield, MB. After her marriage, she travelled with Lou to various RCAF bases across the country and in England. Their four children were each born in different provinces. After Lou’s retirement, they settled in Red Deer, where she enjoyed baking, teaching ceramics, camping in the mountains, travelling, and her daily 4 mile walk, rain or shine. She took great joy in the company of family and friends. We will miss her cheerful whistling, her laugh, sense of humor, and her love of animals, sunflowers and hummingbirds. No dog was safe from ‘just a little trim’ when she brought out her scissors. We all have fond memories of our annual Christmas Cookie Baking Day, and her close tally of how many perogies were in each batch. We would like to extend our appreciation to Dr. Cherniak, and all the staff at the Rosefield Care Centre, as well as the support of the Alzheimer’s Society of Red Deer. In accordance with her wishes, a Private Service will be held to celebrate Elsie. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rosefield Care Centre, 5023-42 St. Innisfail, Alberta T4G 1A9.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Elsie Olesia Raina November 15th 2018..
