Sympathies message

1. Ellen Kampf is one of the last of the “old guard” in Social Work. By that I mean, courageously walked the talk–and in the end she role modeled that again. She was exemplary and exceptional. She was an advocate for any cause she believed in and she believed in many. She was an advocate for her colleagues at North York General Hospital, OCSWSSW, Toronto General Hospital and more. She was extremely intelligent and had an incredible sense of humor. Ellen really had a way of making everyone feel better about themselves. You could not know her professionally or otherwise and not realise how much love she had for her husband, girls and dog. She really talked about them all the time with such love and fondness. So much so that I felt like I knew them for years. I am saddened that I missed her service and Shiva. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to thank her for being my mentor and I am grateful that she was my mentor. The world is going to miss her but the angels will learn a lot from her. God bless her family and others touched by her passing.
