Forever Loved & Always Remembered
The family of Ella May Nina Porter age 102, of Amherst, are saddened to announce the passing of their dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Northumberland Hall, Shannex, Amherst.
Born in Lower Cove, NS, she was the daughter of the late George and Edith (McWhirter) Brown.
Ella will be fondly remembered by her children Ethel Wall, Kathleen Legere, Alta Mowatt and Randall (Lynn) Porter; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Beside her parents, Ella was predeceased by her first husband Daniel Burbine and second husband Sherman Porter; 4 brothers Charlie, Leroy, Bill and Basil; 6 sisters Ruby, Ethel, Annie, Grace, Pearl and Stella.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 12- 2 pm followed by the funeral service at 2 pm with Rev. Natasha Pearen officiating, all held in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St. Amherst, 902-667-9906.
Donations may be made in Ella’s memory to the Northumberland Hall Residence Council.
