Elizabeth Young Clarke Hunter 1913 2018

Obituary for
Elizabeth Clarke (Hunter)
Adored wife of the late Harry Clarke and loving Mother to Margaret (late John Ansell and Ian (Yvonne). Betty will be greatly missed by her Grandson Garry, Granddaughters Nicola (Jim) and Rebecca, and Great Grand Children Jasmine, Gregory and Mitchell. Betty lived a full and adventurous life starting in Leith Scotland, moving to Warrington England where she met her Harry through a youth and hiking club. Betty and Harry then settled into Chetnole, Dorset enjoying family, friends, and the great outdoors camping across the UK. After Harry’s passing in 1983 Elizabeth moved to Canada to join Margaret, John, Garry and Nicola in Pointe Claire Quebec. Upon John’s retirement, the next stop was Lancaster Ontario. Elizabeth was extremely proud of her Scottish heritage listening to her favourite Scottish music and telling everyone it was because of her good Scottish blood that she lived such a long and fulfilled life. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Jennifer Mitchell for her constant support and thoughtfulness. A great addition to our clan. A Celebration of Elizabeth’s Life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd, 46 Oak Street, Lancaster, Ontario, K0C 1N0, 613-347-3629. As a Memorial to Elizabeth a tree will be planted in a memory woods. A tree grows – memories live.
