Elizabeth Van der Kaa
Elizabeth Van der Kaa, resident of Grande Prairie passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at Grande Prairie Care Centre, at the age of 89 years.
Elizabeth was born January 28, 1929 in Holland. She immigrated to Canada in 1954 with her husband and 3 children.
She will be sadly missed by her children: Jennifer Young (previously Harper), Helena (Fred) Jebb, Leendert (Jeannie) Van der Kaa, Corrie (Greg) Gilbert, Casey (Lorrie) Van der Kaa, and Betty (Peter) Chalick; grandchildren: Wally Harper, Correen Van der Veen, Lisa Jebb, Wendy Jebb, Stephen Van der Kaa, Lyle Van der Kaa, Shona Sheehan Berg, Adam Bindon, Cayla Danna, Geoffrey Van der Kaa, Adrian Van der Kaa, PJ Chalick, and Ryan Chalick;16 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren; as well as a brother and two sisters in Holland.
She was predeceased by her husband Henry; son in-law Gordon Harper; great-grandchild Kyle Harper; 3 brothers and 1 sister in Holland.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at 1:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).
Memorial donations may be made to Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation (800 College Plaza, 8215 112 St., Edmonton, AB, T6G 2C8) or to Alzheimer Society of Alberta and NWT (102, 9823 116 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 4B4).
