1931 – 2018
It is with great sorrow that the Reed family announces the death of Joan at the Juravinski Emergency Ward on August 24, 2018. Beloved wife of Russell. Caring mother of Deborah, Norm (Tracy) and Kathleen (Rick). Proud grandmother to Sarah, Patrick, Jenn, James, Cori, Matthew and Samantha. Sister to Gerald (Sharon). Predeceased by her parents Morley and Gertrude Haller and her siblings Carl (Shirley) and John. Joan grew up in Caledonia where she attended school in grades 1 to 12. She completed her secondary education at Alma College in St. Thomas. Later in life she attended Sheridan College and graduated in Travel Counselling. She was a gifted piano player but used her talents mostly for self-enjoyment. Joan had a travel bug. Her favourite destination was Great Britain. Her 21 trips with family and friends was her love. Extensive North America travel was topped with winters in Florida or Myrtle Beach. Special thanks to the Emergency staff at Juravinski Hospital and to all her care-givers at The Wellington. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Grace United Church, Caledonia on Saturday, September 8th at 11am.
