Mom was born to John and Ellen Burton, one of eight children. She grew up in Cedarvale BC, where she later met the love her life, our Dad, Tony. They were married on October 15, 1961. Together they raised six children.
Mom was an incredibly kind and generous lady, always putting the needs of others before her own. She was the most gentle Mother, the soft-hearted partner at the head of our family. Her unconditional love extended beyond her immediate family, she always had room in her heart and home to welcome and care for others. She never had a bad word to say about anyone and she was the most forgiving person. Family was of the utmost importance and Mom’s greatest joy were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; each holds a special place in her ever-loving heart. She also loved her dogs; caring for them as though they were children. Our Mom was our greatest treasure, with each day and year her value increased, leaving us with the richest love.
Mom, thank you for all that you have given us, May you rest peacefully with Dad, you will live on in our lives, memories and hearts…….your “baby’s”

In the garden where the roses
grow, shines a light which sets
my heart aglow.
It’s like a dove that flies with
Grace, in the glow I see my
mother’s face.
There she smiles for the world
to see, what she’s meant to my
siblings and me.
I can’t touch her anymore, but I
understand, she’s now in
Heaven holding my father’s
hand.
At any given time, I can feel in
my heart that loving light begin
to shine.
Her eyes that watched over us
with care, the gentle hands
and the wind in her hair.
In the garden where the roses
grow, shines a light which sets
my heart aglow.
