THOM, Elizabeth “Bertha”
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on December 18, 2018 in Windsor, ON at the age of 67 years. Loving wife of Joe Bordignon. Beloved mother of the late Karen (1996), and Kirsty Dunlop, Julie (Glenn) Fricker, Kristen Bordignon (Wes Carpenter), and Jeff (Robyn) Bordignon. Adored grandmother of Kalie, Kyle, Bradley, Makenna, Madison, Domenic, and Jaxon. Loving sister to Una Thom, the late Wilma Thom, James (Gwen) Thom, Craig (Christine) Thom, Iain (Pauline) Thom, and Wilma (Hugh) McCann. Sister-in-law to Judy (Aurelio) Jas. Also lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in Canada, Scotland, Italy, and the U.S.A. Bertha was retired after having worked for the Ministry of Community and Social Service of Ontario for over 35 years. The family would like to say a special Thank You to the doctors, nurses and staff at Met Hospital 4 West Oncology and the nurses from St. Elizabeth for their compassionate care. Visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519-253-7234 on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Bertha to the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre Met Campus are welcomed and appreciated by the family.
