Edward Hilarian Maika October 13 1941 June 13 2018 (age 76)

On Wednesday June 13th, 2018 Mr. Edward Hilarian Maika was called home by his parents and his son (Edward Maika Jr); he passed away peacefully at Riverview Medical Health Centre. Edward is survived by his wife Darlene Maika of 28 years, his children, grandchildren, brothers and sister, numerous family, friends and co-workers.
Edward worked for many years as a Tire Technician and he retired in 2003 from Reliable Tire Recycling. Edward worked very hard and took pride in his work; he was dedicated to his family and taught them the value of work and being accountable to family and friends.
Edward enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino with his wife, watching Blue Jay games with his family and doing crosswords puzzles. He was also able to travel in his retirement years with his family to several places, including Toronto, Calgary (for The Stampede) Las Vegas and The Grand Canyon. The family would also like to take this opportunity to thank the medical staffs at Health Science Centre, Victoria Hospital and Riverview Medical Health Centre (2nd floor, East Wing). Thank you for being so kind and compassionate to our little Husband, Pops/Papa.
Prayers will be held on Wednesday June 20th, 2018 at 7:30 PM at Eternal Grace Funerals, 1111 Logan Avenue at McPhillips Street. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday June 21st, 2018 at 11:30 AM at St. Edward’s R.C. Church, 836 Arlington Street. Father R. Dayanan presiding. Edward’s final resting place will be held at Assumption Cemetery.
